Constant Resistance or Linear Resistance

Traditional weight training, the equipment you see at all the gyms has one thing. The weight, no matter how much it weighs is always going to be the same. Why? Theres a concept called constant resistance. Constant resistance happens when the weight is moved from point a to point b via gravity. So what happens, the weight is heavy when you start lifting it, gets lighter at the midpoint, where the power zone is, then it gets heavy again when you finish the movement. Here’s the big problem, people have a tendency to cheat the movement to complete it. Thats where the injuries happen. On the other hand, training with resistance bands takes gravity away from the equation. The reason? It uses a concept called linear resistance. So, with that, you can actually load more resistance and more load to the muscles to generate more power. Because its taking gravity away from the equation, its already putting you at the power zone, already giving you the leverage to move a load of resistance from point a to point b, allowing you to train for power needed to do quick, fast movements for sports-specific moves. The bands essentially takes the cheating away. Plus the added benefit of using bands is that you can take them anywhere and train anywhere to load these muscles to get the results. You just can’t do that with traditional weights. We prefer linear based resistance training over traditional weight training for this reason. Plus, its low impact and safer than lifting lets say 400 lbs off the floor on a regular loaded bar doing deadlifts.
